Mountain sports

St. Anton is known for its mountain sport experiences, but until now most people have only known it in winter. St. Anton has a lot more to offer than the classic summer holiday in the Alps. Not only can you discover cosy alpine huts and beautiful hiking trails, but why not check out the diverse mountain sports programme, our culinary highlights and the lively nightlife that will make your holiday in the mountains totally unforgettable. Plan your next trip on the interactive map of St. Anton am Arlberg.

After a good, hearty breakfast, there are 300 kilometres of marked trails to discover. This means that both experienced mountaineers and recreational hikers will get their money’s worth. No matter whether your goal is to reach a summit or an alpine hut – in St. Anton you will definitely not miss out on all the mountain has to offer.

Arlberg Trail

A new long-distance hiking trail with a length of 40.2 km awaits you, parts of which are covered by cable car. It leads from St. Anton via Lech – Zürs – Stuben and St. Christoph back to St. Anton.

Obere Faselfadseen

The Arlberg via ferrata runs high above St. Anton am Arlberg over a long ridge to the summit of the Weißschrofenspitze (2752m). In addition to its high demands on endurance and strength, the via ferrata impresses above all with its perfect panorama of the surrounding peaks. Located at 2500 m above sea level, the approximately 3 km long via ferrata is probably one of the most difficult but also most beautiful mountain tours in the Alps. Take the Galzig cable car and then the Vallugabahn 1 to reach the Vallugagrat – follow the signs to the start of the via ferrata. You should allow four to six hours for the route and for less experienced alpinists it is recommended to do the via ferrata with a local mountain guide.
